Perspectives on Race, Feminism, and Politics – Meet Dr Maria Elena Indelicato:

Dr. Maria Elena Indelicato (she, her) is an interdisciplinary race feminist scholar who has moved back and forth across various continents. Her scholarship reflects her scholarly upbringing in Italy, academic training in the Asia-Pacific and most recent interest in the Atlantic. Her strongest suit is writing histories of the present, working on topics as diverse as: border and migration regimes across history; state sponsored forms of anti-racism; Chinese Cinema(s); the racial politics of the far right, TERFism, and, lastly, the history of affect and related uses of sentimental politics of representation. Dr. Maria Elena Indelicato also has two children who do not understand anything about her work.

This year, Maria Elena is completing her WiRe fellowship at the University of Münster working on a project entitled: “Perfectible Blackness: Black Feminist World Making in the Time of Extinction” with her host Dr Silvia Schultermandl.
